Foreign Softbills are birds that eat one, two or all of the following foods; Fruit (Frugivores), Insects (Insectivores) and Nectar (Nectivores) and come from none UK and none European countries and as such The Foreign Softbill Society UK was formed in 2006 to help establish many of these species of Foreign Softbills in UK aviculture.
By working together with Private breeders both within the UK and Europe, we aim to establish Foreign Softbills for future generations and to enhance co-operation between the private breeder, Zoos and Bird Gardens and exchange our experiences and knowledge openly and fully.
Our aims and objectives are listed in the Mission statement and the guidelines are there for all to see and hopefully to entice you to join us and participate in our great work.
We have many helpful and knowledgeable keepers and breeders of Foreign Softbills, who are only too willing to answer any queries asked and give free and open advice, so please, don’t be afraid to ask. No question is too easy or too difficult.
The sole purpose of this website is to bring like minded people together, in order to make new contacts with Foreign Softbill keepers and to also encourage your participation within FSSUK. It costs nothing to join the website and we hope will provide you with everything you need to know about Foreign Softbills.
Please feel free to register on the site and introduce yourselves and don’t be scared to ask any questions you may have. With your help and your support, we can become a major society within UK aviculture and help promote the beauty of the Foreign Softbill and enhance its reputation as being one of the most wonderful group of birds known to mankind.
I look forward to speaking with you in the near future and thanks for joining the FSSUK website.
